This week has been challenging! This year’s robot has been at 130lbs (the required weight is 120lbs) all week, but much to our relief, we weighed it again at Intergraph and weighed in right at 119. To cut down our weight we: shaved down our metals, moved from steel to aluminum, changed lexan to a lighter plastic and removed unnecessary plates. This problem has closely mirrored the as weight limits found in the real world.
In between cutting weight, our drive team has been able to practice and get used to the new systems and mechanics.
We are very excited to see how well we compete in our regionals: Peach Tree and Bayou. Also, don’t forget to come visit us at our open house on 2/15 at 3:00 – 5:00. For more info, click here.
